Mayor

Resident

Sponsor me please!

I have zero support!

Mayor is a fine gentlemen.  Many of you may remember him from Paard Hill in Shelter Island.  He won in the Hampton Classic I was told three times.  He tore a tendon and had surgery, was rehabilitated and became a school horse.  He has lived with us since 2006 and needs a sponsor. He is 22 now. We intend on offering sanctuary to horses such as Mayor, who have earned a retirement. Help us help them please.  Mayor's new love is Jasmine.  They are a gorgeous couple, quite in love.

Mayor foundered, was immediately moved to one of our farms with a gigantic stall.  He immediately had farrier and veterinarian care.  Now a week later, he has a special pair of shoes with pads and a silicone insert to assist his pain.

We wish to put him on LAMINASAVER which costs about $250....any donations for this or his special shoes will be greatly appreciated!

Jasmine is at his side.

Update: Jasmine is remaining on with Mayor as they are truly in love.  The eat together, sleep leaning on each other and Mayor steps aside to allow Jasmine to walk into the barn.  We refuse to separate this union.  Please donate to help them stay together always.  Thank you to Paard Hill for donating $250.  We were able to purchase the Lamina Saver and he is on the road to recovery.

Mayor is improving and we are grateful for the use of the Watermill Estate Sanctuary for him and Jasmine.

Both Mayor and Jasmine need sponsors.

Mayor has gone from crippled lame and stressed to quite sound and comfortable over the last several months.  His devotion to Jasmine is something for the wedding books.  They spend their lives intertwined in a luxurious harmony of hearts.  Mayor is holding just the right weight as theirs is a special field, growing only a small amount of pasture and his 24 hour turnout situation has allowed any and all traces of arthritis to vanish.  He is calm and grateful to handle now and loves being at the Watermill Estate Sanctuary.

Due to the overgrazing of the drafts at the estate, this July 2010 update is not a good one.  Mayor, Jasmine and Freddy all must relocate to allow the three drafts access to the barn paddocks in order to allow the grass to rest and grow.  Freddy is 28-29yrs old with COPD.  Mayor foundered and is high maintenance and he has a wife.  We need donations to build them paddocks and get run in sheds.

Mayor had to buy special boots because his foundered feet are bothering him.  They were $300. Donations are appreciated and necessary for us to continue meeting the needs of the horses in our care!

Jasmine is in the stall watching her hubby!

Update November 18, 2010: Dramatic improvement.  Mayor is doing well, though I still feel he is fragile.  He is out of the boots now and so far so good.
