Horses are God's Magnificent Creatures

We treat them with the Love and Respect they Deserve

This rescue began in June of 2005 in memory of Rascal...the love of my life. Love does not die.

As of October 28, 2008 we have SAVED 76 horses, ponies and mules primarily from SLAUGHTER! 99% of our time is spent CARING for the horses, so please FORGIVE the delays in updating the website! We refuse to waste countless hours sitting in front of a computer when the horses need us!!! Phone if you are wondering about a specific horse that has not been updated yet! We would LOVE to hear from you!

Save America's Mustangs!

Write to President Elect Obama, before these horses are killed and it is too
late! Ask him to stop the senseless killing of our heritage with our tax

A rescue in Mississippi has contacted us for help. http://www.haveahearthorserescue.com

Below is Mississippi Cowboy. He is 7 and blind.  He was abused and neglected.  We need our sanctuary and we need the blind horse barnyard within it.  The ones we have who are blind or losing their sight are happy and healthy and function just fine, they have every right to life and enjoy the constant banter in the barn. Per Captain Barbossa's request, Amaryllis will sponsor Mississippi Cowboy until he is adopted or we are able to offer him a safe sanctuary with a blind horse unit within.

  • Nov. 1, 2008 The economic unrest has cause our ever ringing phone to become almost unbearable.  Horses, dogs, cats all on the verge of being abandoned; entire horse rescues.....yes, entire rescues done, over...no money coming in.  The horses will die if we cannot take them, and we cannot.  Dude ranches, breeding farms, thousands of race horses.  Suddenly across the nation rescues are unable to place horses and many of these rescues are revolving door types, not the rehab and train type we are here.  Our own sponsors suffering and having to turn away from the horses they promised they would help.  It has become horrific for everyone involved.  We can help our OWN horses only if everyone figures out how THEY can best help ONE individual horse.  Just one horse, one bag of grain is $22.....can YOU buy just one bag of grain?  One bale of hay is $15........can YOU buy just one bale?  Bale by bale and grain bag by grain bag we can get through this.  We do 90% of the work ourselves and therefore have fractional administrative and labor costs, because of this I KNOW we can get through this economic crisis.  Try to HELP us FEED the horses, that is all we are asking for............please.

Thank you SO MUCH to the responders on our 10/29 email plea:

  •   Joyce Cain donated $250 in Reebok's memory Thank you!

  •   Austin James donated $100 Thank you Austin!

  •   Jill Mulvey donated $200  Thank you Jill!

  •   Adam Cooper donated $250 for Poci!  Thank you Adam+ Suzanne!

  •   Kelly Brunsun donated $75  Thank you Kelly!

  •   Suzanne Sloan donated $750 Thank you Suzanne!

The above $1625 purchased almost 4 tons of hay!

The horses are so grateful for your help!  Thank you so much!

Extraordinary school children band together and raise funds for blind appaloosa!

Olivia Mulvey, Madelaine Briggs and Olivia Bruyn, for the second year in a row refused presents on their birthdays requesting that donations be made to the horse rescue! The three girls set out to change the world...for at least one horse.

Laredo, self appointed treasurer...thanks the girls!

Thank you Hannah Jungck for helping the horses!  This selfLESS young lady had a birthday party and instead of asking for things for herself, she requested that donations be made to the horse rescue!  She knew the needs of the horses and jumped on the opportunity to engage multiple benefactors.  The horses thank you Hannah! (Aramis is thanking her in person!)

An Awesome surprise arrived at the main barn today, 11/06/08!  A hand delivered check for $64.00 from amazing Locust Valley Brownies Troop 100.  Thank you so very much Sarah, Megan, Gracie, Louisa, Sophia, Rosie, Nicole, Isabella, Bethany, Dina, Caitlin, Mrs. Hepin and Mrs. Berseto.  And thank you Mrs. Katgara for your donation of $25 and 2 hours of work, along with delivering the funds.  Thank you again girls!  Your money will buy 150 pounds of grain for the rescued horses!

The following is the map to the main educational barn at:

93 Merchants Path in Sagaponack.  The GPS systems take you to the wrong town, so don't us them with this address!

Montauk Hwy to Sagg rd.  Head north over bridge and 1st rd on right is Merchants Path. First right on Merchants is Ranch Court where you will park ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE ROAD AS THE BARN IS ON. No cars allowed in our driveway.

Park only on one side of the street.

Hours to visit daily are 1pm-4pm but appointments are preferred.

Adoptable horses are only shown AFTER applications have been filled out, reference checks have been completed and properties visited. Only suitable horses will be shown and only by appointment.  We need not upset the herd and so use discretion for their sakes.  And to eliminate the "spontaneous, impulse buyers!"
