Important News

You can make a difference!

There are Horses and Ponies that are waiting to be saved from the violence and cruelty of the Slaughter System.

The Adoption Fees help to defer

  • Acquisition Fees
  • Transportation
  • Veterinary Costs
  • Miscellaneous Expenses
  • The countless hours of handling and training by Christine and other professionals volunteering their time.
  • Please realize that in over 95% of rescues, we have Paid their ransom (bail) to the kill buyer to free them.  We then must hire transport to get them home to safe haven. Typically we spend between $1200-$2000 per horse before they step onto the farm!
  • The adoption monies go directly back into the farm to save the next horse in need! All of it!

**Please note that certain conditions may allow for a desired horse to be "gift contracted".  We wish the horses to gain access to the home of their dreams. Money will not ever stand in the way of a horse's desires at AFER.  (Though the feed bills of all must be paid) So please contact us if you find the horse you have been dreaming of here and are looking to offer a forever home.  We stand by our horses for their entire lives and will work together to ensure happiness and security.  Trust that we will not abandon our mission for the almighty dollar. Those that have it will help us indeed.  Land rich and dollar poor can sometimes offer better homes than most.  Thank you!

Additionally, You may lease a horse

or become a sponsor for feed, veterinary care or even carrots! We are looking for foster homes almost always for young horses who need time to grow and for older horses who are trying to get into Amaryllis, but we cannot fit in yet.  Many horses are holding their cumulative breath hoping for an opening which would allow them their safe haven. Many are rideable and many are not.  Please contact us if you could house a horse or two even temporarily.  Thank you for doing your part to change the world for these awesome animals!
