Please do NOT retire, adopt out or lease your horse without checking
up on them, even at a rescue. It cost us a lot of money to
'purchase' one horse we have in order to save him from the fraudulent rescue he was in.
Your horse's life depends on you doing your homework! Don't release your
horse to a rescue that uses primarily foster programs (how exactly are
they regulated and what happens when the foster decides they have
changed their mind and want the horse to move out? where does he go?),
or a vet research facility (let them experiment on already deceased
horses) or college programs (they will be ridden by hundreds of
different riders and then face the auction anyway). We have all watched
or saved college horses, lesson horses, therapeutic riding horses, pony
party ponies, summer camp horses and petting zoo donkeys heading direct
to slaughter after a work season. Many of these horses had a caring
owner who believed they were placing the horse in a safe environment
where children would love on them and they would live a wonderful life.
Place a legally binding contract on your horse whether you sell him or
adopt him out. Require the 'rescue' you donate your horse to have
TRANSPARENCY regarding your horse's current and future living
arrangements! And don't believe everything you hear. SEE FOR
YOURSELF!!! Your horse will thank you.
Do you KNOW for sure where and how
your horse is?
The Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act (H.R. 503/S. 727)
will end the slaughter of horses for human consumption and the
domestic and international transport of live horses or horseflesh for
human consumption.
The Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act (H.R.
503) was introduced in the U.S. House on January 14, 2009 by Congressman
John Conyers (D-MI) and Congressman Dan Burton (R-IN). An identical
version (S. 727) was introduced in the Senate on March 26, 2009 by
Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) and veterinarian and Senator John Ensign
(R-NV).
For them......PLEASE learn. This is
FACTUAL. Not an opinion. If you cannot stomach watching the
records, how can YOU allow it to continue? YOU have the power to
change the world for the horses.
SPEAK UP FOR THOSE THAT CANNOT!
Below...a Mexican slaughterhouse. Stabbing the
horses with an ice pick 10-13 times on average to sever the spinal
cord, so they cannot move while being
butchered.
Do these horses look familiar? They could very well have taken
care of your young child in a summer camp
right here in New York! Ask
yourself if this is acceptable, if these horses look old and useless
and most importantly, ask yourself, does this look like any sort of
EUTHANASIA? Now
ask yourself, where are your horses???
Below Baby
draft horses literally stuffed into a trailer heading for slaughter.
Trailer overturned. Hours spent trying to free the live babies
from under the dead ones. The transport to slaughter is even
more horrific that the slaughter itself. Ask yourself as you look into
the eyes of this innocent young horse...did he deserve this?
Transportation of horses to slaughter for rich european consumption
MUST END NOW!!! Help us to help the horses! No, this little baby did
NOT survive.
Below is a mare trying to
comfort her foal as they stand next in line to be butchered...
The photo above should haunt anyone claiming themselves
to be human. What it does not show, though is the transport, the
auction, the kill pens, and the suffering prior to this moment.
Please educate yourself by reading just one of hundreds of thousands
of auction nightmare accounts. Change the world for the horses.
Educate yourself and then speak up.
Trailing of three trucks from the US border to the horse
slaughter plant in Jerez, Mexico
The Animalsʼ Angels inspectors follow three trucks loaded with
horses from the U.S. boarder all the way to the horse slaughter
plant in Jerez, 650 miles away. Two of the trucks have double
deck trailers, but the horses are only loaded onto one deck. The
third truck has loaded 36 horses onto an open trailer, offering
the animals no protection from the elements. The takes the three
trucks more than 20 hours to arrive at the plant. One can only
imagine the toll this transport takes on the animals, which
likely already spent the last week on several different
trailers, being transported from states like Ohio or Indiana to
the export pens in Texas.
These guys literally follow the
trucks and film the nightmares.

Fact:
Few horses are as "unwanted" as the pro slaughter non humans would have
you believe. We have lesson and camp horses who are safe and
sound. We have horses from foreclosures and horses from divorces.
We have horses who simply needed a month or so to rehabilitate. We
have horses who wanted to train for a new career. And we have
horses here who's owners DIED, their last wish that their horse be CARED
FOR, such as Promise:
So please inform the next genius who
tells you about how the POOR horses will be STARVING on the side of the
road to GET OFF IT and research the facts. How can hundreds of 1-3
month old foals be unwanted if NO ONE KNEW ABOUT THEM. Why were
they even taken from their MOTHERS before 6 months? Better
question...WHY WERE THEY BRED? They are run through the auctions
every spring and summer.
Why would certain breed associations
promote slaughter as a kind and necessary euthanasia? Who PROFITS
from a non regulated MASS BREEDING business? The largest
breed associations. One out of every hundred? foals may go on to
be a champion. The others? Well, the tanners are happy to skin
them before they are 6 months old. The slaughter houses seek
"white meat" from the very youngest "nursing" stock. What is
different from the horrifying puppy mills? NOTHING!
A LIVE horse contributes to the ECONOMY. Think about it! Our
feed stores and all their employees, the vet, the farrier...the
landlords; they ALL benefited immensely from our mission as did the
horses.
A dead horse brings profit for a
foreigner. And dinner for a wealthy European. And heartache
for the soul who loved him in America.
