Little Cloud takes care of
children and beginner adults! She is affectionately known as Momma, for
she came to us pregnant and nursing a foal. Five years of helping us
with lessons and she has not ever let anyone fall off!
Butterscotch taking a water break! He is one of our prize
ponies for the last three years and has carried hundreds of children safely!
Buckwheat and Butterscotch taking a break

Friends!
Augustus walks close
to the working ponies so the children feel safe. He seems to think he
could catch a child if they lose their balance. We have never seen
anything like this. His job was self appointed and he is very serious about
carrying it out.

Augustus McCrae is the "sidecar mule" making sure no one falls off!

Prince Caspian is a special boy and loves the children more than anything.

Cowboy has faithfully helped with lessons for over five years, not ever losing a
rider. Not many barns have our record of safety.
Mikey had a very long, successful show career
before being taken in by us. He has helped more riders than we can count!
All safely.

Chasie was a success at everything ever asked of him. Very quiet, gentle
soul who is now helping us help riders.
Little Boy has
carried many hundreds of children safely in the 18yrs Christine has partnered
with him.

Groups typically range in size from 2-5 campers
per counselor, age appropriate. One head instructor per 5 campers. Several
counselor assistants are also working. Christine supervises the entire camp
daily and teaches the mounted portions.
-
Horses and ponies assist us, as do the resident
barnyard animals. We feel it necessary to request parents refrain from
demanding their child ride a horse versus a pony. This is a problem every
year. Children naturally wish to ride the "BIG" one. We match horse
or
pony to child, not just by size but by attitude,
nature and experience. Thank you!
-
Please become familiar with the basic riding
rules as listed under the "lessons" link, and please purchase the appropriate
riding gear. An astm/sei certified helmet, jodphur or paddock boots and
half chaps. Visit Brennan's Bit and Bridle in the
Bridgehampton Commons 631-537-0635 or click:
-
We have many great arts and crafts this year and
will be having a weekly "theme" based on one of the barnyard animals!
Great fun!
-
Riding time will vary according to the day's
outline as well as the weather. Typically a half hour daily for the half
day camp will be spent mounted and an hour for the full. Sometimes more,
sometimes less. We are striving to encourage a well rounded appreciation
of horses and ponies.
-
Every Friday is a special "Games and Questions"
day when every camper will receive multiple chances to win ribbons and prizes to
show their success for the week.

-
10 week campers will receive a special package
which includes a discount on future lessons or on the lease of a horse and their
own professional grooming kit. Many other goodies will be included in this
package, but it is a surprise!
-
Campers must bring bagged lunch and a water
bottle to refill from the cooler and sunscreen if worn.
-
Friends can be paired as necessary!
-
Drop off and pick up should be prompt please!
WE ALLOW A 15 MINUTES GRACE PERIOD AND THEN WILL CHARGE $1.00 PER MINUTE THAT WE
ARE WAITING. WE ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS AND APPRECIATE CONSIDERATION. Call if you find yourself detained please.
-
There are NO REFUNDS
however you may shift your unused purchase money into an alternate program or
into a tax deductible donation for a certain horse in need.
-
